What are the risks of using a passphrase?

Using a passphrase is only recommended for advanced users that understand how additional passphrases work, and understand the risks of this feature.
  1. Because the passphrase is not stored anywhere automatically, you need to take all necessary precautions in order to make sure that the passphrase stays safe and accessible e.g. by making a physical backup.
  2. If the passphrase is lost, you will not be able to access that wallet anymore and any coins stored in that wallet will become unaccessible as a consequence.
  3. Even the slightest typo in your passphrase will generate a completely different and empty wallet.
