ETH or ERC20 token not received on the BitBox02

If you have withdrawn or sent Ether (ETH) or ERC20 token from an exchange or another wallet to your BitBox02, but they haven't arrived or aren't visible in the BitBoxApp, there could be several reasons.

Either the exchange has not sent the transaction yet, or the transaction has a low fee rate, which is why it takes longer to be confirmed. In this case, it makes sense to just wait it out.

However, another possibility is the Ethereum mainnet was not selected for the withdrawal, and therefore the ETH/token are not displayed in the BitBoxApp, although the transaction has already been confirmed. In this case, you need to figure out which network you used for the withdrawal.

Layer 2 withdrawals

Layer 2's are used to scale cryptocurrencies. As a general rule, transactions are cheaper and get confirmed faster when a Layer 2 network is used instead of the mainnet.

Most exchanges offer withdrawals of ETH and ERC20 tokens via such Layer 2 networks. However, if these are used for withdrawal, the funds will not be displayed in the BitBoxApp. To see or use the ETH/tokens, the BitBox02 can be used with a web wallet like Rabby.

If you have withdrawn your ETH/tokens using Arbitrum, Optimism, Coinbase BASE, or another Layer 2 network, you can follow this guide to connect your BitBox02 with Rabby. With this wallet, you can access your ETH/tokens.

EVM compatible networks

Some exchanges offer withdrawals on a different EVM-compatible network. In this case, the BitBox02 must be connected to the Rabby web wallet in order to send these tokens back to the exchange for withdrawal on the correct network. You can follow this guide to connect your BitBox02 with Rabby.

If you have withdrawn your ETH/tokens from Binance, it is possible that they are on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). These tokens are not officially supported by BitBox02 and should therefore be sent back to the exchange for withdrawal on the correct network (ERC20). You can follow this guide for that purpose.

Optional passphrase

If you are using an optional passphrase, it's possible that a wrong passphrase led you to the wrong wallet. You can also verify this by checking if the ETH addresses match up.

If you see a new ETH address, it means you either used a different account, or the optional passphrase is incorrect.
